I’m Emma, and the blogger behind Fitcake.
Way back in 2013 I started a beauty blog, it seemed like everyone was doing it and that was what I needed to do. Fast forward a few years and I couldn’t settle with my blog at all.
In May 2016 that all changed when my husband suffered a shock heart attack at 38 years old. It turns out 12-hour nights, smoking and eating the wrong foods does catch up with you eventually.
We changed our lives after this event and I raised just over £400 for the British Heart Foundation by walking 25km along the Sandstone Trail in Cheshire just 30 days after my husband’s second heart attack. Shortly after this I also took part in my very first 10km run for Cancer Research UK as an ambassador for their new tough10 race series.
In April 2017 the Fitcake Blog was born and as they say, the rest was history.
Initially a health and fitness blog, Fitcake has become my place of love, where I can share experiences, adventures and advice across the internet and encourage others to lead a healthier lifestyle as well.
Nice to meet you, hope you find something useful here.
