Sometimes it’s nice to add a little luxury to your routine. Whether it’s a tasty morning pastry treat or a mid morning cake. To something a little different like a luxury body oil or new splurge lipstick. I love health and beauty but I don’t tend to include it a great deal as I like to focus on the health and fitness side of my life most. Mainly because of the reasons I decided to start this new blog, and partly because I just don’t want to have to compete with some of the already amazing beauty bloggers around.
That being said I thought I’d share a few little things that I’ve loved adding to my little get ready routine. Because there really is nothing better then adding a little bit of luxury is there?
Vita Liberata (PR sample)
I have raved about the VL sunless tanning range for such a long time and it is one of my absolute favourites. That and the fact that it is the only brand I use now for anything tan related. The PR team were kind enough to send me a beautiful gift of a few of their products ready for the colder months and I could not wait to share my thoughts on the Marula Dry Oil Self Tan with you.
Being the worlds only self tan with SPF 50 protection the product is already in a league of it’s own. With a subtle tint at first application the colour is both buildable and long lasting ensuring that you can always find the perfect tan shade for you. I find it great for after a morning shower, especially with my dry skin and irrational fear of the sun and my skin. Quick drying, odourless and no irritation.
Chanel N°5 Perfume
This perfume has been my favourite forever. I remember a relative who used to wear this daily and the scent has stuck with me since I was a child. I get this as a gift every Christmas from my parents which is why I can go through the year smelling like lightly fragranced baby powder. This is the scent I get from it…
It’s such a classic fragrance, and fills me with warm and fluffy thoughts I just can’t imagine not wearing this when I’m heading out somewhere important. Plus have you seen the bottle? It’s stunning and of course an iconic design these days with prints, clothing and even copycats using this little bottle of love for inspiration in the world.
Urban Decay Lipstick in Liar
Up until recently I haven’t really been a lipstick or gloss wearer. I’ve had a couple bought for me in gift sets and things but never really went out of my way to carry one with me. Recently however, I had a good sort through my make up as I had stuff in my box from years ago and came across this lipstick that I bought last year.
It’s the perfect kinda nude that I’d assume is good for Autumn so I’ve been putting it on when I’ve had make up days and it’s surprising how easy it goes on and how natural it feels to wear lipstick even after all this time. It’s great for finishing your make up look and looking extra polished so it’s a winner for me. I also have a new obsession with gloss. Who knew!?
Karen Millen Pumps
I remember the very first time I bought a pair of shoes from Karen Millen, I’d saved £40 to buy a pair of silver metallic pumps in their sale and could not wait to get them home. I tried them on, left them under the table and went out, I can’t remember where we went thinking back but what I do know is that by the time we returned, our dog at the time has eaten the heels off of both pairs… Cue disaster.
I spotted these ones when a relative was selling them a few years ago and so cheekily asked her if I could have them. I received them under the Christmas tree and was SO excited as I adore them so much. As they have a faux fur effect I have to be choosy then I wear them as I don’t want them to get ruined as they are one of the more expensive pairs of shoes I own other then some Faith boots.
What’s your favourite splurge item? Why did you buy it and why do you love it?
I would like to make a note that I am one of the least materialistic people I know. I don’t get over excited by the latest make up trends, or have to run out and buy these amazing clothing lines that get launched. I like to be comfortable and have money to spend on my family. But, I do like nice things on occasion and of course, if we work hard what’s with a little luxury treat now and again to remind us that we are all human?
