Fitcake health and fitness blogs supported charities & fundraisers.
As I mentioned on my about me page, I really want to use my influence from my health and fitness blog and growing social media channels to support and raise awareness for some truly amazing UK charities. At present I am supporting a number of national and local charities and it’s always nice to share a little about them and why I have chosen to support these through my work, events, races and fundraisers.
Providing care and support for those living with terminal illness and their families. The nurses at Marie Curie looked after my nan in the last few weeks of her life and they were an incredible force to be around when the time came.
Cancer Research UK
Of course, having relatives that have passed due to cancer related illnesses is such a regular thing these days. Cancer Research UK aims to bring a day when all cancer illnesses are curable. They do this through funding from the likes of you and me and always need more support.
The British Heart Foundation
Fighting to end heart disease. Having almost lost my own husband to two heart attacks in 2016 at only 38 years old the British Heart Foundation were a rock to me. All the things I needed, questions, support and advice at the end of my fingertips on the web. They are the biggest independent funder of cardiovascular research in the UK.
Alder Hey Children’s Charity
Alder Hey Children’s Charity can fund life-saving medical research into childhood conditions. They need fundraising from the public to be able to research and study the next generation medicine that can cure illnesses and diseases that children suffer with today.
