Last year Parisian fashion house Balmain launched an exclusive collection with Specsavers.
Yesterday I got to pick up two of my favourite pairs with my prescription lenses ready to take on the world. I’ve never been one for designer frames always opting for standard ones. In fact, these are also my first prescription sunnies so it’ll be glorious being able to wear them whilst driving.
My love story began after I accepted my new job which starts later this month. I realised that my flimsy glasses frames were on their way out, my headaches were returning and it would probably be worth getting it all checked out again.
That and the fact that my thirtieth birthday is approaching meant that I was able to get new frames as a birthday present. I instantly fell in love with these two frames when browsing in Specsavers. It’s been the longest week of my life waiting for my new glasses and lenses to be ready. I’m like a kid at Christmas.
One of the things the optician mentioned to me is that a lot of my headaches and pains are likely due to tension rather then my eye sight deteriorating more. Which is a fair comment, I’m a highly strung human that struggles to relax most of the time.
Clearly this is something I need to work on so I’ve been looking into ways that will help me to relax, release tension and decrease the amount of tension headaches I get. Which at the moment are almost a daily occurrence.
The most successful thing at the minute for my headaches and neck pain is applying heat when I lay down. My hot water bottle and two pillows seem to work a treat. It’s helped me to settle at night although there is still a lot of work to be done when it comes to sleeping all night.
Another thing that I’ve decided to do is pick up some yoga practise again. Just the kind that I can do in peace, at home, alone. I’ve always loved that post yoga stretched out feeling. So I’m going to put it to better use and use it to help release stress and tension in my upper body.
I’m not going to attempt anything else at the moment as I don’t want to overload myself with too many things to do. I’m a sucker for over promising things to myself and then letting myself down so no more. So we’ll see how yoga works out over the coming weeks and fingers crossed it all gets so much better.
P.s I think the adventure of my new job is stopping me from sleeping as I haven’t slept fully for over a week. Please, please throw me some ideas for sleeping too! I’ll love you forever.
What are your favourite ways to de-stress and release built up tension, help a girl out!
