If the title doesn’t remind you of your primary school days jumping over the skipping rope with your mates whilst singing various rhymes then I don’t know what will. I was lucky enough to be sent some equipment by Beast Gear a few months back. One of those items was a skipping rope.
It’s been a long, long time since I have used one and my daughter was more excited about it then me. I did bite the bullet and have a go and surprisingly it’s a lot harder then I remember! I don’t know whether it’s because I’ve had two children and never really been mad on the fitness until the last 12 months but gosh, I actually felt like my insides were going to fall out!
After numerous attempts and plenty of practise I can now successfully jump the rope without stopping every few seconds to get my bearings. Result!
I don’t think so, the more I started reading into the benefits of skipping to go with the post the more I realised that this was a speed rope, the term double under kept popping up so as the nosy bugger I am, I delved in.
Wow, just wow.
I can’t actually do this, but just have a search online and you’ll see what the double under is. Hopefully I’ll be able to do this one day! It looks pretty tough but Beast Gear have an amazing section on their website to help understand more.
