Hello! Lovely to be back and in the mood for blogging. I’ve been so busy with work and my new blog, The Concrete Jungle that this little old place has been a tad neglected.
As the end of the year approaches I’ve been spending a little time prepping for 2019. With a new job on the horizon, a project that has blown everything away in terms of support and big expansion plans in the new year it’s safe to say I’ve got a lot to be getting on with.
The kids went to stay with their nan for a few days so we took the opportunity to take the dogs out on a long country walk and discover some new places for our strolls.
It’s safe to say that we made the right decision to stay in the countryside and it makes me feel really happy to know that we have finally found a place to settle. I’ve always wanted to move away from the towns and cities but Ben took a little more persuasion. Thankfully, we’ve done it and we have absolutely no intentions of moving back.
We found a little nature reserve to stroll through this morning and it was the perfect weather for it. Mild, but no rain and the blanket of grey clouds sheltered us from the cold winter air. We wandered through the trail, took some pictures, discovered a lake and a pretty bridge for posing and I got full use out of my new Barbour wellies.
I have been looking at purchasing some for a while and was looking at some that tend to be more expensive. When these popped up on my trusty ASOS app it was a no brainer.
A trusty mid range priced wellington boot that’s perfect for the mud of the countryside but still looks good too. An essential for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors tackling fields, dog walks and village high streets.
I’m obsessed with the tartan lining and they are super comfortable even on long walks. A classic essential for any countryside dweller who doesn’t feel the need to flash the cash.
So here at home we are looking forward to the new year massively and can’t wait to see all of our plans unfold.
