Hello again, how are we all? Did you catch my last post? Here it is if you fancy another read. If you did, you’ll know that it’s literally one day until my new job begins.
I’ve officially updated all of my feeds, LinkedIn, Facebook etc and I’m a bag of nerves waiting for Sunday to end so I can sleep. Ready for the new day ahead and my first commute by train, ever!
Another thing I’ve noticed is that my skin issues are fluctuating at random at the minute and I’m sure it’s a combination of weather changes and internal stress about starting a new job.
I don’t mean stress as in a bad thing. I mean with my anxiety at times I get a terrible sense of imposter syndrome and that I’m going to fail everything.
We are due an eczema/skincare update but I thought I’d share and talk through my four essential products that I keep in the bathroom. We can chat about my skin in the next post.
There are four products that I use more then any other. Bathroom ones I mean. I repurchase again and again and love them so much that I’m planning on declaring my love in this blog post.
As you will know I have eczema, which at times can be pretty severe. This means that with the sensitivity and irritation comes a hard time working out what works and what doesn’t. That goes for most things that go near my body.
Herbal Essences Daily Detox Shampoo
I adore this stuff. I used to use Herbal Essences all the time and recently stumbled across their new daily detox range which I’d somehow missed.
Their shampoo works really well and my head always feels clean after use. Plus the formula can be used daily, smells good and contains no silicone’s.
Another bonus is it helps to keep my skin issues under control as I’m known to get quite dry skin on my scalp. This means that I have less visible dry skin and my head isn’t as itchy. So a great shampoo for eczema sufferers.
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moisture
Years ago I was introduced to this brand by one of my dads ex girlfriends. She used to use this on her bleached hair and when visiting I tried it out and immediately fell in love with the brand.
It’s been really good lately due to the fact that I almost ruined my hair a few months back when I decided to go blonde on a whim.
Even though I’ve had my hair saved by a professional it’s still in dire need of a good treatment. The Aussie conditioner is perfect and really helps to return the much needed moisture to me hair. Plus it smells amazing. Need I say more?
Beauty Formulas Skin Glycolic Facial Cleanser
Normally I like to stick to what I know works, especially on my face. However, I ran out of my usual cleanser and needed something that day so surprisingly picked this up. It was literally ONE POUND from B&M.
I was apprehensive as we all are with cheaper products but my gosh, it’s actually really good. I’ve always double cleansed, personally it just makes my skin feel that little bit cleaner. It may be in my head, who knows. I do it anyway.
This is like a cream consistency and foams up nicely removing even the thickest make up I’ve applied that day. It takes a little longer to tackle the mascara but it cost me a quid so you know, who cares?
Plus it doesn’t cause any red patches, irritation or anything with my eczema so a massive thumbs up to this.
Oilatum Shower Gel
I actually get this on prescription due to suffering with eczema quite badly. However, you can purchase it in most drugstores and supermarkets although sometimes it can be a little pricier then some items.
It is incredible for dry skin though so well worth the pennies. I can’t use too many regular shower or bath products, there are a few but when my skin really flares up Oilatum shower gel is the only one.
It feels like a waxy gel and applies really easily. You’re supposed to lightly rinse it off and pat dry when you get out of the shower which helps lock in the moisture and make your skin super soft. It also helps gain control of my skin again which is the main point.
