Post written in collaboration with Gladskin.
We all know I suffer with my skin, those close to me know more so then others. Mostly due to the intense amount of moaning I do when I’m having a flare up and the hacking sound of my nails scratching my skin when the itch is so unbearable I make myself bleed. I recently wrote a fun little tongue in cheek post about the things not to say to an eczema sufferer and thought it would be a good time to test out a few of the products that have landed on my doorstep recently.
At present, I am going through a lot. Moving house, temporarily living with the mother in law which if you are alive on Twitter like me 24/7 you will know she is an A* idiot. Trying to decide whether my business idea is a viable idea and keeping myself motivated to continue pushing every day. Battling mental health issues which seem to have resurfaced more so in the past few weeks. Yeah. And they say life is a piece of cake. Liars.
I was kindly sent the Gladskin eczema cream to try out which couldn’t have arrived at a better time as I am having an unusual flare up with all the goings on and my skin is on fire. Based in the Netherlands and part of the Micreos Brand with extensive research activities in Switzerland they have created FDA-approved and award winning products.
Eczema is a skin condition which causes extreme discomfort, itching, flaking, red skin. The most common form is atopic eczema or which sometimes there is no known cause. It can affect all parts of the body. Unfortunately for me I suffer from whole body flare ups which at times require steroids and bandages when I’m sleeping. Gladskin eczema cream promises to soothe the skin, reduce irritation, prevent inflammation and restore the bacteria balance on your skin.
Billions of bacteria live on our skin. We now know good bacteria are essential for the protection of our skin and vital in maintaining a healthy skin condition. But there are also bacteria, like S. aureus, that can cause inflammation and symptoms such as itch, redness and rashes and trigger flare-ups. – Gladskin
I used the cream as instructed for a week straight and managed to get the uncontrollable itch under control in the evenings. This was great as the night time is the worst time for me. My flare ups cause insomnia, restless leg syndrome, pain from breaking the skin so to be able to use the cream and soothe my skin before bed was an absolute godsend.
I’m really impressed with how quickly my skin started to heal itself and would recommend this to anyone with eczema who wants to try something new. The main disappointment for me is the price tag. It is quite expensive and if like me you suffer quite intensely, you’ll know that trialling products is time consuming and already expensive trying to find what works for you.
What do you use to tackle your eczema troubles?
