and I love it.
I don’t know whether it’s my age, or the fact that I now have a proper house of my own. I seem to be drawn to house plants of all kinds right now. Every time I drive past a garden centre I get the unimaginable urge to pull over and run in to raid the place for the latest range of indoor greenery.
I recently went all out and spent money on some pretty plants for my lovely little home. I ended up spending £45 on three house plants, 2 cacti and cute little plant pots to match the interior. Look at me being all grown up and sophisticated.
Ever since I acquired my first bonsai tree at age something teen, I’ve been obsessed with trying to keep these oxygen making organisms alive. Of course, I’d be a little concerned if I struggled now as I’ve managed to keep two small children alive for the past 10 years so I must be doing something right.
I bought a hanging plant for the bathroom as I have been wanting one to hang down and give the room that little something extra. Plus I find that plants in the bathroom help defeat humidity and make the place smell fresh and clean in the morning. Especially since we have a wet room in this house and for some reason it appears to be a lot more moist in here then in any previous bathroom we’ve had. I literally have to open the window ALL day, every day.
There is also the addition of a spider type plant as I LOVE spider plants, they are so basic and easy to look after and surprisingly they manage to grow alarmingly fast. My dog has already been told off for eating the leaves as it lives on the fireplace surround in the lounge, perfect pug height unfortunately.
I have also gone all festive and purchased a stunning poinsettia as I usually buy them from the supermarket every year and decided this year I’d buy one from the garden centre and attempt to grow, love and nourish it from a baby over the Christmas season.
The two little cacti in metal pales were a gift for each of the children, just to get them excited about plants and give them something to look after that’s fairly simple. Maybe I should of bought these before I bought them hamsters hey?
Anyway this blog post is mostly a way of me being able to show off my brand new plants that make my heart happy.
Plus how Instagram worthy are they!?
