This post is a combination of a few things. A review of the IdealFit UK range but I wanted to write a little about Instagram workouts first. You know the ones, the ones of the perfectly put together tutorials by huge influencers with hundreds and thousands of followers. They make it look super easy and look great doing it.
More power to them as I could only dream of looking like that and feeling that good about a workout. I’ve been looking into a few to see which ones I prefer and am going to attempt some of these workouts to help build up more strength. I have a feeling this will help me massively when it comes to running and that constant niggle I get in my upper right thigh as a result of pushing to hard too soon.
After what can only be described as MONTHS of searching, saving, investigating I have found three ladies that seem to put together well balanced, researched and achievable workout routines. The fact that these mostly rely on body weight and free weights is also great as if I hadn’t already mentioned, I cancelled my gym membership so need to do these workouts at home.
So I’d definitely recommend checking out these Instagram accounts for workout ideas, motivation and just all round amazingness Carly Rowena, Grace Fit UK and Food Fitness Flora I’m sure you’ll already be well aware of these ladies so enjoy.
A couple of months ago I was kindly sent some products by IdealFit UK to trial and review. Now I admit I have been trying these for a while amongst other brands and products but now is the time to have a chat and share my thoughts on these particular ones.
As part of The Hut Group based up the road from me in Cheshire who look after the likes of LookFantastic, MyProtein and other well known brands, IdealFit UK’s products are specifically aimed at women.
We believe in empowering women to earn their ideal.
With a huge range of products available that have been carefully created by experts in their field to aid women’s goals there is something for everyone by this brand. From BCAA’s to pre-workout formulas and bloody tasty chocolate brownie protein powder I really enjoyed the range I received. Plus I got the protein shaker of dreams. Thanks for that!
It has to be said that a lot of the protein and workout ranges I’ve tried over the past 12 months or so have really surprised me in their offerings. Gone are the days of bad tasting powders, dodgy diet pills and everyone offering the same thing.
My favourite product of the trio I received was the IdealFit UK Peach Tea Vegan BCAA’s. I’ve not tried BCAA’s before and I had to look into them a little as I wanted to know what it was I was taking. BCAA’s it turns out are Branched Chain Amino Acids and are said to reduce fatigue during a workout as well as accelerate recovery, reduce soreness and improve the use of fat as energy.
This particular product is also low fat, low sugar, vegan, nut free and gluten free so ticks a lot of boxes for those with different lifestyles too. The peach tea flavour was really refreshing although a little sour to begin with. This was by far my favourite product and the one I ran out of first. My husband also used it, I know, it’s for women but he was intrigued and said it worked quite well anyway.
Secondly, the pre-workout was an interesting one to say the least. As someone who once fell into the ketones trap and felt like I’d been on a whole host of illicit substances after taking some many moons ago. The IdealLean pre-workout for women was a surprise.
Although I had the cherry lemonade flavour and it did taste bloody good, I wasn’t as keen on the rush and the feeling it gave me before my workout.
I legit felt like a rocket about to take off. It was like I could feel it pumping around my veins, I tingled, my hair stood on end, and I felt like I could take on the world. Great if you like that kind of thing. It frightened me the first time I used it, I did get used to it though I haven’t finished the whole tub yet.
Finally, the IdealFit UK chocolate brownie protein shake. Pure perfection in a tub. I know I say this a lot but I absolutely love protein shakes these days. I remember Ben used to get them YEARS ago and they always tasted like flour or something so now that I take my fitness a little bit more seriously I’m super happy that there are so many amazing options out there.
So if you are in the market for workout supplements I’d highly recommend giving these a go. They taste great, are specifically formulated to aid women’s performance goals and they offer a great vegan range too. Please note that the chocolate brownie protein is vegetarian but not vegan.
Soooo… last but not least, I wanted to share something super exciting. I’ve been shortlisted as the Best Lifestyle Blog in the 2018 Health Blog Awards by the Health Bloggers Community. I have to say when I got the email I was all like, there is no way I’ll be up there against the amazing bloggers. I never get shortlisted, or nominated. Maybe it’s because I don’t engage enough on social media, or maybe people just don’t like my content.
Either way, I have never been more excited to receive an email alerting me to the fact that I am in fact, nominated for an actual real life blog award. Almost five years of blogging has paid off and someone out there actually likes my blog so thanks very much for that.
I’m sure I’ll know more later this week about when voting opens and closes and the ceremony is in London on September 15th so that’ll be my first proper outing down South in years! Plus I’ll get to meet so many incredible people, bloggers, influencers and have a good old chit chat too.
