We all feel down sometimes. It’s in our nature to go through periods of unrest, depression and generally feeling unbalanced. It’s often in these dark moments that we get that light bulb moment, through the sadness comes comfort and the idea that we CAN change our lives.
I’ve been feeling a little stale recently and after attempting to push myself to blog every week day hit a block and failed miserably. Does that mean I should give up and forget about the whole thing? Of course not, it just means that I need to cut down on what I post each week and put more time and effort into what I do put out there.
Quality always wins in my opinion and although quantity is great. If it’s not loved and nurtured, it shows. I don’t want my blog to be based on poor content that is thrown out there just for the sake of it.
So whilst I spend so much of my day researching, planning and organising things online, the rest of the time is spent taking photos, planning adventures around work, school runs, rainy days and writing, deleting and re-writing content on this little blog of mine.
I’ve realised where my passions lie, and the fact that I want to help encourage others to lead an active healthy lifestyle is the main challenge. I’ve recently updated my about and contact page to reflect what my goals are with Fitcake if you’d like to know more.
As someone who is moderately lazy, constantly at war with myself over exercise, cake obsessed and mentally unstable, I’d like to think that if I can do it, anyone can.
There is nothing greater then achieving the goals that you set yourself, whether it be daily, weekly, monthly or yearly and I’d love to be able to inspire others to get out, adventure and move. It’s as simple as that.
Life is an adventure.
I’ve rediscovered this recently, my medication is working, I’ve managed to start leaving the house alone again, I’m really enjoying little adventures with the family and I’m gaining confidence slowly when it comes to photography shoots.
Inspired by a recent trip exploring thanks to Osprey Europe as they sent me one of their new backpacks. I decided to take the leap and create some fun shots to share too. I’ve stopped focusing on the social media numbers and started enjoying the blogging process as a whole again.
The fact that my page views have almost doubled in a month shows that content is king and for me and it’s working, social comes in a close second and obviously I will still create exclusive content, I just don’t need the stress of numbers right now.
We returned to favourite place of ours to put some images together and even the kids had a great time playing on the fields, hills and in between the castle ruins. There is something quite magical about kids imaginations and of course, wanting my children to grow up fit and healthy means that them running around is great.
So if you’re ever feeling down or are having a bad day, just remember…
Life is an adventure worth living.
*Backpack was gifted by Osprey Europe, all views are my own.
