Hurray, hurray it’s the return of the Allen family adventures.
Since I relaunched/rebranded at the beginning of 2017 our adventures have been on hold a little. Mostly due to illness and other private circumstances. Now though, we are ready to begin adventuring once again and I’m reintroducing that to the blog too.
You may, or may not have noticed that I have uploaded a couple of short videos to my YouTube channel. The aim is to start filming and putting together short films/videos of our adventures for you to follow along with.
It seems fitting really that the first of the new adventures I want to talk about is our recent half term trip to Reaseheath Zoo, which can be found in Nantwich, Cheshire.
Reaseheath College were the first college in the country to receive a zoo licence back in 2000. This allowed them to transform their campus into a zoo and open it up to the public during half terms and other school holidays to allow children to experience a little zoological education with their parents.
Although not a standard zoo where you’d find bigger animals like lions, tigers, rhinos etc, their collection is great and the fact that the kids get that closer interaction with these animals, in my personal opinion, gives them a better experience and understanding of the animals themselves.
My two loved the part where you could go in with the Lemurs at feeding time and they were hopping around all over the place, sitting on shoulders and saying hello close up. It was an experience that I enjoyed as well.
The fact that they open their doors during holidays is great, plus the prices are an absolute steal with them occasionally offering a kids go free deal which makes it a great day out for the family.
I also uploaded a short video meeting some of the zoos animals so feel free to pop over and take a look, give us a thumbs up and subscribe for new adventures weekly.
What adventures have you been on lately? Feel free to share them with us!
