Post in collaboration with The Skinny Bakery.
I’m a sucker for a sweet treat.
Even when I’m trying to make better food choices I just can’t help myself when it comes to eating sweets. I’ve found a few great treat alternatives that go well with a healthier lifestyle but most of the time these products don’t quite make the grade in terms of taste, appeal and ingredients.
Recently I’ve realised how far I’ve been letting things go, and realised that I need to get a grip, get back in the gym and start controlling myself when it comes to food binges. Especially when it comes to anything that resembles a bar of chocolate.
These things are always going to be made easier when you enjoy your treats aren’t they? I mean, why am I going to want more chocolate biscuits when I’ve already had a tasty cookie with my brew already? I’m not am I, well unless it’s a really bad day anyway.
The Skinny Bakery got in touch on Instagram about their healthier treat range and asked if I’d like to try them out. Of course, anything treat related is good so I agreed and eagerly awaited the parcel being delivered.
I was obviously open minded as I’ve previously tried healthier treats and been severely disappointed with how they look, feel and taste, and with an addiction to chocolate, biscuits and cakes I have high sweet treat expectations.
Started in 2013 by passionate baker Mariella Forte, The Skinny Bakery is going from strength to strength having been featured in numerous articles and used by multiple high profile clients in the UK.
Interested in the science behind baking, Mariella decided to create tasty treats that contained a fraction of the calories expected.
I was quite surprised at the content to begin with. Not only did everything look and smell great but the calorific content was also a lot lower then I’d imagine. The fact that they were super tasty and the perfect addition to anyone’s afternoon tea in the garden was a pleasant surprise.
Especially with me being the type that devours an entire galaxy share bar in one sitting, alone and still feels like I need more sugar.
There are a great range of goodies that are available on the store as well. Whether you are a cake lover, a gingerbread fiend or obsessed with flapjacks there is literally everything your heart desires in a small tasty, but healthier treat.
They also look amazing and the packaging is adorable, a bloggers/Instagrammers dream really.
Now it comes down to checking out the prices as we all know for things to taste so good, there is usually a risk that they are going to be a little more expensive so imagine my absolute glee when I checked out the website and they were actually priced reasonably well.
So it’s a win win situation really. More treats, less calories, although of course the whole idea of a healthier lifestyle is to not restrict but to maintain and make better choices so this could be a great way to adhere to that!
Have you tried The Skinny Bakery yet?
