Food. It’s a glorious thing. But do you ever just get bored of the same old and lose inspiration when it comes to trying something different?
It can be even harder when you have two kids who, while their eating habits aren’t THAT bad. They won’t try unusual stuff.
When the PR guys for HelloFresh got in touch to see if we would like to try out their HelloFresh family box we couldn’t of been happier.
I’ve never tried a service like this before, in fact, I’ve never even considered it as I always thought they were a little on the pricey side.
A little about HelloFresh.
Born in 2011, the brainchild of founders Dominik and Thomas, they wanted to change the way people ate.
From their first customers to the dream business with over one million households they have certainly helped to shape the way families spend mealtimes.
HelloFresh gives people the opportunity to eat fresh, wholesome food with less shopping time, food waste and the stress of trying to create something new.
How did we get on?
We were sent the recipes and products for three evening meals. These were sweet and sour beef, satay chicken skewers and vegetarian quesadillas.
Ben and I loved every recipe and thought they were really tasty. Plus Ben being the main cook in the house enjoyed trying something new and discovering new ideas for our weekly evening meals.
My personal favourite was the quesadillas, it was so good you couldn’t even tell there wasn’t any meat in it. Plus we were stuffed afterwards which is always a bonus.
The kids loved the sweet and sour beef which was a plus as we were worried that they’d make a fuss. They tried all three meals and enjoyed them all.
We really enjoyed trying out the HelloFresh box. The ingredients were fresh, the recipes were easy to follow and tasted great and everything was packed in it’s own bags so there was no confusion.
It can work out a little pricey and we probably wouldn’t take on a full time subscription but for some inspiration and a treat I definitely think we’d order a box again in the future.
Have you tried the HelloFresh family box yet? What did you think?
