Hello again, I haven’t actually told many people yet but… I’ve got a new job! I’m very excited to get started and it’s something new, shiny and that I’ve got plenty of experience in.
I’ve spent the past two years or so freelancing, working from home and doing odd IT related jobs for people. Now though, I’m ready to rejoin the workforce and I can’t wait to get my teeth stuck into this new venture.
Things have changed quite a bit since the last time I worked full time and although I’m managing things quite well. I’m still having that internal panic/meltdown about what’s going to happen.
It’s probably something that we all get when we’re about to embark on a new journey but I often wonder if suffering with anxiety makes these thoughts almost unbearable.
Today for example I’ve cried for absolutely no reason, then panicked that I may get lost on the train, whilst travelling to my new job, that I haven’t even started yet! So as you can imagine, I’m having to battle it out against my own brain to calm that internal fight or flight mode that wants to kick in.
One of the things I’m excited about is that I get to help build the business from the ground up. It’s an amazing opportunity and I’m feeling really good about it. The second is that I’ll get to share my journey and how I manage myself through out this daunting process.
I’ve always been quite vocal about not wanting to be a full time blogger, so this is the best step forward for me. I’ll always blog, and always find time for it but with a brand new time consuming job about to begin. Coupled with my degree that starts in October I’m gonna be one busy women.
I have always preferred the structure and motivation that comes with a career working in businesses. I’ve spent a fair few years freelancing and I just can’t handle the inconsistency of it all. I’d much prefer a regular pay day, work colleagues to converse with and being able to shut the door and my work be done for the night.
